Page 1 Guaranteed.
Or We Work For Free.

Almost no SEO agency guarantees anything. SEO249 does. Here's exactly what we promise, how it's measured with data both parties can see, and what happens if we miss.

National Guarantee → Local Guarantee →

Because We Can — and Should

Almost no SEO agency guarantees anything. That's not conservatism — it's an admission that most agencies are still selling a methodology built for the search engine Google was in 2015. SEO249 rebuilt around what Google actually is today. The results are predictable enough to guarantee.

Confidence in methodology

Cluster Authority isn't a mystery process. 40-article national clusters or 20-article local clusters, published on a predictable cadence, with full schema markup and multi-channel distribution. The pattern works often enough to guarantee it.

Skin in the game

If we don't hit the mark, we work for free until we do. That's real cost to us if the campaign underperforms — the kind of accountability most agencies write out of their contracts.

Transparent measurement

Google Search Console. Free, both parties have it, Google's own data. No third-party tools, no disputes over which cities count, no "our proprietary tracker says…" nonsense.

Aligns everyone's incentives

We only make money if you keep paying. You only keep paying if the work delivers. The guarantee makes that alignment explicit and enforceable — not just an implied hope.

Google Changed. We Changed. Most Agencies Will Too — Eventually.

Since 2015, Google has quietly rewritten every rule about how search works. RankBrain taught it to understand intent, not just keywords. BERT taught it to understand sentences, not just words. E-E-A-T made trust and expertise measurable ranking factors. Then ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews changed WHO does the searching — turning search into a conversation with cited sources rather than a list of ten blue links.

Each of these was an earthquake for SEO. The industry will restructure around it — it always does. But right now, most agencies are still executing the playbook they built a decade ago: four blog posts a month, one keyword per post, quarterly backlink outreach, meta tag tweaks. The adaptation takes time. Some agencies will make the shift within the next two years. Others will fade.

SEO249 rebuilt early.

The Cluster Authority methodology documents the rebuild — this page is about what we promise, not how we deliver it.

Because the methodology matches the reality of modern search, the results are predictable enough to guarantee.

That's why we can put page 1 in writing. Most agencies can't yet — not because they're dishonest or bad at what they do, but because they haven't finished rebuilding for the search engine Google actually is. When they do catch up, more agencies will guarantee results too. Right now, we're one of the few.

This Is White Hat SEO. Full Stop.

Some agencies "guarantee" SEO results by using black hat tactics — techniques that violate Google's guidelines and produce short-term rankings that collapse when Google catches them. Doorway pages. Private blog networks. Cloaking. Keyword stuffing. Auto-generated spam.

Those tactics can produce rapid ranking gains that make an aggressive guarantee look real — for 6 to 18 months, until Google issues a Core Update and every ranking evaporates overnight. The client is left with a demoted domain that takes years to recover from, if it ever does.

SEO249's guarantee is possible without any of that.

Cluster Authority is 100% white hat — every practice aligns with Google's published Search Essentials and Webmaster Guidelines. Because the methodology matches Google's actual ranking criteria, sites built with it don't lose rankings during Core Updates — they typically gain, because updates almost always reward comprehensive, expertise-driven content.

White Hat SEO vs Black Hat SEO

The practices below are the industry line between an SEO agency that builds durable rankings and one that games the algorithm for a temporary spike before it collapses. SEO249 does not use — and will never use — any of the practices in the right-hand column.

SEO249 · What We Do

White Hat Practices

  • Client discovery meetings to identify target keywords
  • Content grounded in the client's actual business expertise
  • AI-assisted drafting with two rounds of human editorial review (agency + client)
  • Semantic HTML5 architecture Google explicitly rewards
  • Full schema.org markup on every page
  • Real content distribution — LinkedIn, YouTube, industry publications, legitimate citation networks
  • Google Search Console for transparent, verifiable measurement
  • Realistic 6-to-12-month timelines matching how SEO actually works
  • Portfolio approach — 10 of 20 or 10 of 40 keywords on page 1
  • 100% compliant with Google's Search Essentials and Webmaster Guidelines
What Other Agencies Do

Black Hat Practices

  • Doorway pages — hundreds of near-identical landing pages targeting keyword × city mad libs
  • PBNs (Private Blog Networks) — buying links from networks of shell websites
  • Cloaking — showing Google one page and real users a different page
  • Keyword stuffing — hidden text, unnatural repetition, meta tag spam
  • Auto-generated spam — bulk content published without any human oversight
  • Fake reviews and manipulated citation profiles
  • Fake or manipulated backlinks from low-quality directories and comment spam
  • Impossible timeline promises — "Page 1 in 30–45 days"
  • Inflated keyword counts — "100+ keywords on page 1" (padded with junk long-tail nobody searches)
  • Position-specific guarantees — "#1 for [specific keyword]" (technically impossible and against Google's guidance)

The bottom line: Every black hat tactic in the right column produces a short-term ranking spike that Google eventually detects and penalizes — usually 6 to 18 months later, in a Core Update. When that happens, the client's rankings collapse and the domain takes years to recover, if it ever does. SEO249's guarantee is possible precisely because none of our practices are on the right side of that line.

★ Flagship · National Market

National SEO Services Guarantee

12-Month Term 10 of 40 Keywords

The promise: Client approves 40 target keywords aligned to Client's business. Within 12 months, at least 10 of those 40 keywords will rank on page 1 of Google nationally — measured by Google Search Console average position of 10 or better. If fewer than 10 rank on page 1 by month 12, SEO249 continues working at no additional charge for up to 12 additional months or until 10 do rank.

What "page 1 nationally" means: Google Search Console shows an "Average position" for every query the site ranks for. That number averages every US impression — Google's own data, transparent to both parties. Position ≤ 10 = page 1.

What most clients actually see: The 10-of-40 floor is the minimum commitment. Successful campaigns typically rank 20–30 of the 40 keywords on page 1 within the first year — the guarantee is the floor, not the ceiling.

Local Market

Local SEO Services Guarantee

6-Month Term 10 of 20 Keywords

The promise: Client approves 20 target keywords aligned to Client's business and city. Within 6 months, at least 10 of those 20 keywords will rank on page 1 of Google in Client's target city — measured by Google Search Console average position of 10 or better OR appearing in the top 3 of Google's local pack (map results) for Client's city. If fewer than 10 rank on page 1 by month 6, SEO249 continues working at no additional charge for up to 6 additional months or until 10 do rank.

Why the local pack matters: Google's local pack has only 3 slots. Ranking in the top 3 map results is what actually drives local phone calls and directions — often more than page 1 of the traditional blue links below.

What most clients see: The 10-of-20 floor is aggressive by design — 50% of your target keyword set. Successful local campaigns often rank 14–18 of the 20 keywords on page 1 within 6 months.

What the Guarantee Requires From Client

For the guarantee to apply, Client agrees to five specific obligations. These aren't paperwork — they're the practical inputs SEO249 needs to actually deliver the results. If Client can't meet these, the guarantee is void (the work still happens; the free-work extension doesn't apply).

  1. Approve content and materials within 4 weeks of delivery. Rolling approvals — multiple articles can be under review at once.
  2. Provide access to Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Business Profile. These are the measurement and optimization surfaces we work in.
  3. Provide access to all social media accounts relevant to distribution (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok — whichever Client's business uses).
  4. Let SEO249 make on-page SEO changes to the site as scoped in the campaign.
  5. Have a website SEO249 approves. Our SEO work only performs on a modern technical foundation — fast loading, mobile-responsive, Core Web Vitals passing, clean semantic HTML. If Client's current website doesn't meet those standards, the guarantee applies only after SEO249 builds a brand new custom site for Client.

Google's Own Data — Not Ours

Almost every SEO agency's "ranking reports" come from third-party tools (Ahrefs, Semrush, SERanking) that check rankings from a specific IP address in a specific city. Those numbers are useful for tracking trends, but they're proxy data — not what Google actually sees when a real user searches from their real location. SEO249 measures the guarantee against Google Search Console average position, which is Google's own aggregate of every real US impression of your site.

Free for both parties

Google Search Console is free. Client already has it, or can set it up in 5 minutes. No third-party tool subscription needed for the measurement.

Google's own numbers

Not a proxy. Not a scraper. Google Search Console shows the actual average position across every US impression, calculated by Google's own systems. Unimpeachable data source.

Same tool, same numbers

Both parties log into the same GSC property and see the exact same average position number. Zero dispute over "which tool is right."

Rolling 30-day average

Position can bounce ±3 spots week-to-week. We measure on a 30-day rolling average from GSC — smooths noise, matches how Google evaluates.

Two Things You've Probably Read About SEO Guarantees

"But Google says no one can guarantee SEO results…"

Google has said, correctly, that no one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google. That warning is right — and it's aimed at agencies making impossible promises: "#1 for [keyword] in 30 days," or "top 3 in 45 days." Those commitments ignore how Google actually works.

The SEO249 guarantee is different. It's calibrated to what Google's own guidance says is achievable — real rankings for a portfolio of keywords over a realistic timeline — and it aligns with Google's advice to seek "realistic estimates of improvement."

Google's real advice is: work with agencies that give realistic estimates. That's what SEO249 does. Our guarantee reflects what the methodology actually delivers — not what marketing wishes it delivered.

"A different agency promised me 100+ keywords on page 1 in 45 days."

That promise almost always relies on doorway pages — hundreds of near-identical landing pages, each targeting one keyword × city combination. On paper, all those pages rank #1 for their narrow queries. In practice, Google has explicitly been against doorway pages since 2015 and periodically demotes them in Core Updates. When that happens, the client's rankings collapse overnight — usually 6 to 18 months into the engagement, right around the time the agency has collected enough retainer to move on.

SEO249's guarantee is calibrated to real rankings on business-relevant keywords, built through Cluster Authority — which Google's own guidance explicitly rewards. Slower than the "100+ keywords in 45 days" pitch, yes. But durable. If Google runs a Core Update in year 2, your rankings hold — because they were earned, not manufactured.

If you've been burned by an agency that promised the world in 30–45 days and delivered a temporary spike followed by a collapse — that's the pattern. It's not you. It's the tactic.

Guarantee FAQ

Yes. At least 10 of 40 approved target keywords rank on page 1 of Google nationally within 12 months (National SEO Services), or at least 10 of 20 approved target keywords rank on page 1 in the target city within 6 months (Local SEO Services). If fewer than 10 rank by the deadline, SEO249 continues working at no additional charge for up to 12 additional months (National) or 6 additional months (Local), or until 10 keywords do rank.
By Google Search Console average position. GSC shows an average position number for every query the site ranks for, averaged across every US impression. Position of 10 or better equals page 1. Both parties have access throughout the engagement, so measurement is fully transparent. For Local SEO, appearing in the top 3 of Google's local pack (map results) for the target city also counts as page 1.
SEO249 continues working at no additional charge for up to 12 additional months (National) or 6 additional months (Local), or until at least 10 of the approved target keywords rank on page 1 of Google. No refund is issued because the work has been performed — the remedy is continued work at no cost until the guarantee is met or the extension cap is reached.
SEO work only performs on a modern technical foundation. Websites with slow loading, poor Core Web Vitals, outdated HTML, or missing schema markup actively sabotage ranking efforts — no amount of content strategy can overcome technical debt. Requiring an approved website protects both parties: Client gets rankings that actually compound, and SEO249 doesn't get blamed for underlying infrastructure it did not build.
Google Search Console shows an average position calculated across every US impression of the site. That average IS the national ranking — Google's own aggregate data, not a proxy or estimate. Both parties see the same number in the same tool, eliminating disputes over "which cities count."
Target keywords are approved in month 1 and locked for the duration of the guarantee measurement. This protects both parties: Client cannot swap in easier keywords late in the campaign to force a guarantee outcome, and SEO249 cannot swap out difficult ones. If Client's business focus changes materially, the campaign can be restructured, but the guarantee measurement resets to the new keyword set with a new timeline.
Real and legally binding. The guarantee is written into every SEO249 engagement agreement with explicit terms: measurement method (GSC average position ≤ 10 or top 3 of local pack), threshold (10 of 40 for National, 10 of 20 for Local), timeline (12 months National, 6 months Local), and remedy (continued work at no cost until met, up to a capped extension). Almost no SEO agency guarantees anything because guarantees require confidence in methodology — SEO249's Cluster Authority methodology, developed and refined since 2017, is what makes this guarantee possible.
Client obligations exist because they're the practical inputs SEO249 needs to deliver. If Client consistently blows past the 4-week approval window, or refuses to provide GSC/GBP/social access, or won't allow on-page changes, the guarantee is void (SEO249 still performs the work, but the free-work extension does not apply). SEO249 documents obligation lapses monthly so disputes have a paper trail.
No. Authority+ is post-build continuity for cluster maintenance after a Local or National campaign completes — it's not a fresh ranking campaign, so the guarantee mechanism doesn't apply. Authority+ is month-to-month with no contract, so Client can cancel anytime if it's not delivering value.
Yes — with the same terms. Agency-partner engagements are white-label, so the guarantee applies to Agency and by extension to Agency's end client. Agency is responsible for facilitating Client obligations (access, approvals, website approval) on behalf of the end client.
100% white hat. Every practice aligns with Google's published Search Essentials and Webmaster Guidelines. SEO249 does not use — and will never use — doorway pages, PBNs, cloaking, keyword stuffing, auto-generated spam, fake reviews, or any other tactic that violates Google's guidelines. The full comparison of white hat vs black hat practices is shown earlier on this page. The guarantee is possible precisely because none of our practices are on the black hat side of that line.
No. Doorway pages — hundreds of near-identical landing pages targeting keyword × city combinations — are explicitly against Google's guidelines and have been since 2015. Google periodically demotes doorway pages in Core Updates, causing sites that rely on them to lose rankings overnight. SEO249 builds Cluster Authority content: real interconnected articles that cover a topic comprehensively. Every article is unique, human-reviewed, and grounded in the client's actual business expertise.
Yes — as a drafting tool within a client-informed, human-directed workflow. Every article starts with a client discovery meeting to identify target keywords and gather the client's actual expertise and business specifics. That data is the source material for the content — meaning articles are grounded in real client knowledge, not generic templates. AI assists with drafting, then our editorial team reviews and edits, then the client reviews and edits before publish. Google's March 2023 guidance is explicit: AI-assisted content meets Google's guidelines when it demonstrates expertise, experience, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness — the same standards as human-only content. Two rounds of human review, with the client's own expertise as the source material, is a much higher editorial bar than most agencies clear.
